About Us - Brendan McGorry

Creative Background

Brendan has been a celebrated exhibiting artist for 20 years and a recent finalist in half dozen national Art Awards, winning this years Estuary Artworks award. Last year he took the 2nd prize in the iconic Fieldays Number 8 wire award.
Inspired by his time Studying Frescos in Italy, Brendan’s own work touches on what seems like traditional drawing and the wildly abstract. Set to music his classes are always a lively sociable affair where he shares this extensive knowledge of art history and unique techniques in a supportive environment.
This year New York’s Golden paints are visiting New Zealand and Brendan has been invited as one of five N.Z Art tutors to attend a week’s workshop and become part of their international teaching program. We look forward to sharing this expertise on all the new acrylic mediums.

Teaching Philosophy

I want my students to elave with something they couldn't have imagined existed before they created it.
