Creative Background

Lindsay has been teaching Mosaics for fourteen years, in both basic and advanced (mural) techniques. She has taught at Glenfield College, The Depot and Takapuna Grammar, and has also run private courses. Lindsay has a broad arts background, having studied Fine Arts, Sculpture, Life Drawing and Jewellery Making, and has a B.A and an M.A in Film, TV and Media. Shepreviously worked in film and television here and in Australia. Her mosaic murals can be viewed at Castor Bay Pumpstation (pictured), Devonport Community House and Mairangi Bay Playground.

Mairangi Arts Centre is a strong, community based visual arts education centre supporting and encouraging local/regional and culturally diverse communities to experience and enjoy a diverse range of visual arts practices, exhibitions and education programmes.

Our Purpose

To provide a supportive, nurturing and encouraging environment at Mairangi Arts Centre that fosters community access to and participation in the visual arts by offering a strong and purposeful education and exhibition programme that meets the learning and presentation needs of the community.
