The Centre has two galleries that may be hired to display artwork:

Main Gallery

Focal point of the Mairangi Arts Centre exhibition schedule, the Main Gallery is an attractive space which may be configured in a variety of ways through the use of moveable walls. It has polished timber floors, white walls, and several options for hanging artwork. The gallery has recently been further enhanced by the installation of a new lighting system. The space is able to accommodate large scale works and sculptures.

Hire Cost: $300 per week +GST

Hewson Gallery

The Hewson Gallery is a more intimate space, suitable for smaller exhibitions. It is carpeted, has white walls and offers several options with regards to hanging artwork. Wall space is not as extensive as in the Main Gallery so larger pieces may be limited.

Hire Cost: $100 per week +GST

Gallery Hire for Functions

The Galleries may be hired for purposes other than displaying artwork. Appropriate uses would be meetings, events and seminars. Gallery Hire for functions will be considered on a case by case basis with consideration given to the nature of exhibits on display at the time.

Studio Hire

Artists may hire studio space to work in with availability subject to usage by Mairangi Arts Centre’s art education programme. Studios are also suitable for meetings and seminars. Both studios offer:

• Standing easels
• Trestle tables & chairs
• Whiteboard
• Overhead projector and screen

Studio One

Capacity:
15 artists/seminar attendees

Hire Costs - Artists:
Members $12 p/hr +GST, non-members $18 p/hr +GST

Hire Costs - Commercial Use:
$40 p/hr +GST, All day $200 +GST 9.30am - 4pm

Studio Two

Capacity:
12 artists/seminar attendees

Hire Costs - Artists:
Members $12 p/hr +GST, non-members $18 p/hr +GST

Hire Costs - Commercial Use:
$30 p/hr +GST, All day $150+GST 9.30am - 4pm
