Annette Dickison

Annette moved to Auckland in 2002 after having spent most of her life in rural Southland. She received her formal art training at the Ilam School of Fine Arts, Canterbury University. As an artist she has worked in a wide range of styles and mediums, from theatrical set designs to pen and ink newspaper drawings and book illustrations. She has also painted landscapes and portraits. Annette has taught art and has traveled widely in the U.S.A., Europe and Asia looking at art galleries and architecture. She was the recipient of the Sam McGready Roses International Trophy Award at the Mairangi Arts Centre Members Exhibition 2004. Artist’s Statement: “The inspiration for my flower paintings comes from my interest in gardening and my fascination with the effect of sunlight on flowers. My characteristic style has been described as modern neo-classical.

Annettes classes are on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday evenings - Contemporary Acrylic or Oil Painting
