Estel Slabbert

Estel is a Fine Artist who enjoys teaching and sharing her knowledge.

After gaining her National Diploma in Fine Arts, she attained a National High Diploma in Fine Arts.

Estel's teaching and professional background is extensive. She has worked as an artist for both tona Design Studios in Johannesburg and the Library and Museum services in Pretoria.

In addition to teaching art classes for adults and children in Vredenburg, she also tutored at the Art School of Pretoria. Estel has particular experience teaching colour theory, design and figure drawing. In 1984 she established a silk screening business producing prints for interior decorating purposes. After moving to New Zealand Estel began concentrating on printing and painting textiles.

Estel has been a long term tutor at Mairangi Arts Centre and is responsible for teaching a majority of the Children’s classes.
