There are so many reasons why we are drawn to make art:
For self expression, for inspiration, for comfort for meditation; because we are good at it or because we have forgotten how. As an arts educator in a community art
centre I see my role as a facilitator in an environment where students have equal
opportunity to create the art they need to make.My children's art and craft class is aimed at stimulating creativity through invention, experimentation, risk taking, rule breaking mistake making and having fun.
These creative processed are also encouraged in my adult oil painting class, where students are challenged to discover new ways pf seeing, consider alternative
approaches, try different techniques and develop new skills. My task is to help students find confidence in their own ability so that they can create independently and
develop a personal style. My teaching approach is based on 20 years of experience working in primary, secondary and tertiary educational settings as an artist and educator. I have an Honours Degree in Fine Arts and a Masters Degree in Education
