Past Exhibitions & Events

Mairangi Arts Centre has a long history of showcasing the artistic talent of a wide cross-section of the commnunity since its inception in the early 1990s. Notable past exhibitions include the First Impressions National Printmakers Exhibition (2013 - 2017), Inside Out Exhibition with Department of Corrections (2011 - 2016), and the North Shore City Art Awards (2002 - 2010), now formerly known as the Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards, which is jointly hosted by Mairangi Arts Centre and Estuary Arts Centre on alternate odd years for the former, and even years for the latter.

Since 2008, Mairangi Arts Centre has hosted the North Shore Secondary School students exhibition, Artrageous, as well as the North Shore Intermediate School students exhibition, In2Art, on alternate years. These exhibitions provide opportunities for local secondary and intermediate students to exhibit alongside their peers. We are proud to be the only North Shore venue to host concerts by the NZTrio, “New Zealand’s most indispensable ensemble” (William Dart, NZ Herald), since 2017.
