Alvin Xiong is an Auckland-based multi-disciplinary artist and independent curator. His practice looks at integrating painting techniques into different mediums to achieve new expressions. Examples include Life Likes Summer Flowers, LED installation, 2015, commissioned for the Auckland Art Festival, as well as LALALA, commissioned by the University of Auckland, for the Lantern Festival. Alvin’s works are in the collections of the The James Wallace Arts Trust, and the China National Archives of Guangzhou. Awards include, Emerging Artist Award at the NZ Art Show, Wellington (2014); The Trust Art and Sculpture Awards, Auckland (2014). Recent solo exhibitions include, The Feeling Menmoto, Vero Centre, Auckland (2015); and Cross influential, Pierre Peeters Gallery, Auckland (2014).
